Crafting in Aion

New to Aion? Here are some pointers to official resources on important features of the crafting system.

Feeling crafty? Get started on the Crafting section of the Game Guide on the official Aion website.

When crafting items from raw materials, there is a rare chance to craft an item of higher quality than normal. This is known as a proc. You can tell when a crafted item is proc because the item’s name and icon will appear bright green. Procs are meant to be rare and random in Aion, and the rates by which proc-quality items appear in Aion are closely guarded.

Expert Professions

The Expert crafting quest chains are exclusive to one another, which is to say that you can only have one of them active at a time. If you've decided that you want to work on the Expert quest chain for a different skill, your character will have two options.

  1. The first option is to stop the Expert quest chain you're currently on by relinquishing your crafting skill at the trainer NPC. Please be aware that any progress you've made on the quests will be forgotten if you choose to do this.
  2. Alternatively, you can finish the Expert quest chain your character is currently on, and then raise that crafting skill to 449. Once that's done, you'll be able to start another Expert quest chain, as long as you do not already have two crafting skills at Expert level or higher.

If you do have two such crafting skills, you will have to relinquish one of them at the trainer before you can become an Expert in another one.

Once you finish your Expert quests for your character’s first crafting profession, the governor in the main city will reward your character with a hat, experience, and a scroll that will allow you to train above 400 in the skill. Once you've completed the quests to become an Expert in your second crafting profession, the same NPC will reward your character with experience, a scroll to train past 400, and the Top Expert title.
